Below is my list of the best romance novels of but there is absolutely nothing about this list or my own reading of romance novels that are comprehensive and this is a different list than if I listed my favorite books that I read in ; I stuck to the requirement that they had to be published this year. And so to help round out my subjective taste, what were YOUR favorite romance novels of ? Please tell us in comments. This request is incredibly selfish on my part: But her entire Brother Sinisters series, though, of which The Suffragette Scandal is a part, is particularly wonderful. She remains singularly independent even as she falls in love with Clark, and he learns how to love her on her terms. I wrote about the heart of the book when I reviewed it earlier this year:
He has sex with them. Before he knows it, Ivy Mackenzie has become his best texting bud. But then Ivy comes home and everything goes haywire. Because the only thing Gray can think of is being with Ivy.
Describe Shacking Up using no more than characters a la Twitter. Sexy, quirky, with enough sexual tension to light your underwear on fire. I thought that was his last name, so I sassily introduced myself by my last name as well. Then he corrected me, telling me that his first name was Bancroft, and I felt obviously ridiculous. He was a mammoth man. He practically had to duck through doorways, so I put that one in the name bank for a rainy day.
I also thought it was rather hilarious that it could be shortened to Bane—as in the bane of my existence, which we know Bancroft certainly is not. Shacking Up is hilarious! How easily does the banter between the characters come for you? Do you ever struggle writing the humor in your books? Neither is Bane for that matter.
I have such a fun time creating off the wall, sometimes sexually tense scenes, especially with these two. Do you ever make yourself laugh when writing a scene?

The brownie follows with a few, quick bites. Wiping my hands on a napkin, I set the plate and empty can on a side table, and then let out a contented sigh. Except I have no endgame here. I told her I want to be friends. But how does that work for us? Parties for me are self-congratulatory events, filled with people whose one focus seems to be bolstering my ego, followed by me searching for a quick hookup. And my friends are all part of football in some way. We talk football or sports. That chafes too, knowing I live a life that seems wild and free to outsiders but is actually small and structured on the inside.
The Hook-Up Game? Please Help!!?
He has sex with them. Before he knows it, Ivy Mackenzie has become his best texting bud. But then Ivy comes home and everything goes haywire. Because the only thing Gray can think of is being with Ivy. Especially not with a certain football player. No matter how hot he makes her… Gray drives Ivy crazy.

By Maya Rodale When I first began writing romance novels there were very few rules, including the book must end happily and do not write a sports hero. Seriously–even though women crush on them in real life Hello, Beckham –they were deemed off limits if you wanted to sell a romance. I devoured each book–and I hate football. There’s just something captivating and irresistible about the sports romance featuring an alpha athlete hero–and many readers and authors know it.
I chatted with authors of alpha athlete heroes about what sets these sporty guys apart, how much spandex is involved and why even sports-phobic readers should pick one up.
